Hallelujah--

THIS IS TIM'S LAST WEEK OF SUMMER WORK! He is finished one week from tomorrow!! yahoo! Then we have one week of classroom/school/lesson plans preparation with trying to adjust our sleeping schedules etc back to the norm...a time to rejuvenate for Tim, hopefully. Then, the next week we are going to a training the school is sending us to at Bob Jones. That weekend we have a wedding to go to in North Carolina where the Harney family will get to reunite again . Then, the next week we, Lord willing, will be traveling to Indiana/Illinois to visit friends and family during the week, and head to Kevin Burrill and Heather Hobbes' wedding that weekend. Then, travel home because teacher in-service begins August 8th. School begins the 14th. And that's the rest of our summer! Yikes!
(Just think, we did have a PA trip scheduled in there too, but we had to cancel. It's just too much for us right now, and too expensive to do all that traveling at this time. We really wish we could make it to PA- I miss it, but God knows and Lord willing, we'll get to go for Thanksgiving. )

p.s. those of you who have been praying for Misty Ticknor- please keep praying, they took baby Toby in to the hospital tonight b/c of seizures....they are doing a spinal tap for spinal meningitis. Thanks!

Wow! We are so blessed...

Today, we finally got a vehicle!!! For those of you who don't know, we were in a wreck in September 2005 and totaled our car. Since then we have borrowed cars! First, we borrowed a car from the incredible assistant/youth pastor in Indiana (our dear friend, Pastor Steve) until Tim's wonderful parents let us use their car which we still presently have. It has been such an awesome blessing to see how God has worked. We stand in awe truly. We knew we would need to get a car soon- and God worked it all out to give us this Honda CR-V. Tim has been eyeing this vehicle ever since we moved down here... we didn't think we would be able to get it until August (when we have 2 pay checks coming in), but Tim wanted to go over and talk to the guys at the dealer (again) just to see what they had to say about the car and see how much we could talk them down. Well, we talked and did more talking etc etc and they gave it to us with no payment until the end of August! Because it was a little more than what we wanted to pay because there was a little more miles on it than we wanted, they gave us a bunch of vouchers for oil changes, and $500 worth of services including tires, etc - plus a free tank and a half of gas- on top of the warranty the car already has. We came home and were so excited that we just couldn't sit still. After Tim went to work, I sat down and prayed, thanking God for the gift and asking Him to make confirm it again for us that we made the right decision. Within 15-20 minutes, the dealer called me back and asked me to come over and sign all the papers again because he worked some figures and got us a better deal!(tim has to go back tomorrow morning to sign) Too awesome! Wow! So, we were able to have it a lot sooner than what we thought.... which is nice b/c we have some traveling coming up. We thought for sure that it was beyond our imagination to actually have THIS vehicle. Tim did a lot of research on the CRV-- it's quite the vehicle! We wanted an economical SUV so bad (for many reasons); but anyway, we are so grateful, and can't stop talking about how much we LOVE it! We are rejoicing in God! ANOTHER HALLELUJAH!
It's been nice to have a car too while Tim is gone. I got to go to the post office and grocery shopping and some errands-- wow it was so nice, and I didn't have to be rushed at all. Talk about leisure! :) I am going to feel even more spoiled this week having a vehicle- I won't have to bum rides for everything! I didn't even have to do that in college...I always had my own car! :)
God is always good all the time!

Happy 4th of July!!

What a day I tell you!! WOW! Well, Tim had off work (YIPPPEEE) ! We went to Dan and Sarah Ruley's house for lunch. Then the four of us plus Daniel's brother, Dwight went to an Atlanta Braves game. It was very hot! Whew! When we left home it was 98 degrees....who knows what it got up to in Atlanta.

We got there early and hung out.

We also got to see the torch from the Olympics in '96.

We all got free hats!!! They are really nice hats too! We were so excited!

They did a lot of neat stuff for the 4th. President Bush gave a message to us and then they brought out the flag with military men holding it while they had a recording of "O Beautiful for Spacious Skies." The men started waving the flag...everyone was cheering. It was just awesome! It was so emotional. The highlight of the day for me!

We were enjoying ourselves, having a great time, then it began to rain....then it began to downpour....then it began to just STORM with thunder- lightning - everything! We had great seats for it though! ;) They stopped the game and many people were leaving- but we weren't leaving b/c we came for the fireworks!!! We didn't really care anyway- the rain wasn't bothering us. So we waited 3 hours!!!!!

They game finally resumed and we got to move up really close because so many people left. I think we were about 10 rows back behind Braves' dugout.

We were quite hyped about it, but then they announced that they are canceling the fireworks because of city noise laws for that late at night. Talk about a disappointment! The Braves lost- no fireworks- But we did get a free hat, made lots of memories and had a great time! We got home at 3:30 this morning!! Needless to say, my poor husband is super weak and tired today and wasn't looking forward to going to work, but I know that God has granted Him strength! Isn't it wonderful to look to Him and trust in Him for every need?!?! He's so worthy of praise- just because of Who He IS!! Hope you all enjoyed your Independence Day.

Family is so precious!

We had the joy of having Aunt Judy and Grandma (Heidi's side) stay with us for 4 days! Oh how we wish it was longer! They traveled here on Monday from Pennsylvania and left on Friday morning. My family becomes more precious to me each passing day, and I thank the Lord for that. He put that in my heart! I got all excited about looking forward to seeking to be a blessing to them while they were here, but once they got here til the minute they left, they were overwhelming me with blessings (as always)!! I sure loved the company, but not just that it was company, but that it was their company. It was also great having a vehicle-- we were able to go do laundry, grocery shopping, some errands. That was so nice! Tim had to work each day, but we stayed up waiting for him each night! :) Aunt Judy, Grandma and I went to the mall one day, we went out to eat one day, and spent the evenings talking and watching old movies. It was so fun. One afternoon all of us (with Tim) got to go out for lunch! They are so loving, generous, and sweet! I miss you and can't wait to see you again!!!!
One of the blessings they brought to us was MORE FURNITURE!! YIPPPEEE! We now have dressers!!! yeah!!! How exciting! AND a family friend was getting rid of her brand new loveseat and asked if we wanted it- needless to say, Aunt Judy brought it with her and we now have a beautiful loveseat!!! (Thanks Betty!!! =) ) Pictures to come! I have been putting up last little bits of decorations now that we have a full apartment. I know some have been asking to see our apt. so hopefully soon, I will get some pictures up of our new home.

Ticknor Update

Praise the Lord! God is always good! The doctors took the baby on Monday (via C-section) and baby Toby is doing well. I was so excited to be able to see Mike and Misty at the hospital before she went to delivery. I thank the Lord for those few precious moments. Misty had brain surgery yesterday (friday) morning, and from what I hear she came through just fine. The doctors said the surgery went well. She is in recovery and I don't know much more than that at this point but we are so grateful for God's mercy. Thank you friends for praying. We, and I know the Ticknors, appreciate it!
